FairSalsa
FairSalsa is FairPlay’s latest project, and the ideal way to add a little rhythm into your time as a traveler, volunteer or Spanish student in Cusco.
Just like with our language teachers, FairPlay is giving disadvantaged local people the chance of a financially stable future by training them to be salsa teachers. Training began in early May, and as you can see from the pictures below, our team is working hard but also having a great time:

Week Two of Training - In Pictures
Our trainee teachers are all aged between 16 and 25. All are from very poor backgrounds and none could afford further education or training, but all of them are talented, enthusiastic and committed to securing better lives for themselves and their families. FairPlay is helping them to help themselves, by providing them with free, high quality training.
Their intensive, four-month training schedule includes all the salsa moves, choreography, the history of the dance and the music, English lessons and regular gym work and yoga.
By September, they will be fully trained salsa teachers, ready to offer fun, effective lessons that will rid you of those two left feet and give you the confidence to get up and dance in Cusco’s numerous salsa-crazy discos.
For more information on our starting date, watch this space. If you have questions, or would like to make a provisional reservation for mid-September onwards, please get in touch. You can also check out our Facebook page.
