FairCare
Our dream since 2006 is to start an educational center where the poorest children in Cusco can get a fair start in life. This dream has developed into a real and professional plan over the past years.
Between 2007 and 2010 we dedicated hundreds of hours and quite some money into research, writing and rewriting our plans. Therefore we have a concept ready that we tried in real life and we are ready to roll out his plan during the next 5 years.
On September 1st 2011 we start an after school project.
Lots of children go to primary school in the morning but have no place to go in the afternoon. These kids are part of a one parent family and their mothers have to work all day to survive so there´s no one at home.
Apart from decent education these kids miss out on healthy nutricion, structure and love and attention.
This July and August an army of volunteers have helped us to make and paint furniture, decorating the classroom and developing the daily lesson plans.
We also experimented with different menu´s so we can offer the kids a healthy, daily meal that contains proteines and vitamines.
FairCare needs lots of volunteers the coming months that just want to help out, be creative, love children and really want to make a difference in the world.
In 2012 we will add a pre school for 4 and 5 year olds to our center. We will then also move to our own location where we will build everything ourselves.
