"I stayed in a host family for the whole time I was in Cusco and it was the best experience. My family were incredibly friendly, accommodating and nice, and did everything possible to make me feel comfortable in this new country and help me learn Spanish. You wake up, live, sleep and dream in Spanish, it is fantastic." Tyrone Zafir, Australia
"The family we stayed could not be warmer and more welcoming. They are very friendly and truly care about the comfort, health, and safety of their guests. One time, they went with us to the pharmacy to help us find the right medication for my wife. The family is always available to bounce ideas off about things to see or do in the area and also to give advice on what things to do or not do in order to stay safe. We felt included and like part of the family especially because they were always inviting us along to their family events like fiestas, volleyball games, and other get-togethers. Add in the fact that the daily Peruvian meals were fantastic (and healthy), safe for tourists\' stomachs… we loved being there.
In short, we will definitely be recommending this homestay to anyone visiting Cusco including friends and the children of friends. It\'s really a unique, comforting, and safe way to experience family life while visiting the beautiful city of Cusco." Ernesto & Patty Aguayo, California (USA)
"My experience with FairPlay was the kind of experience one never forgets. I was quickly welcomed into the FairPlay family from the moment I arrived, even though I could hardly utter a word in Spanish! The family were always hospitable, kind and patient with me and I felt apart of the family, not a paying customer, as I experienced family life in Cusco and enjoyed attending events such as family dinners, school festivals, volleyball, and birthday parties. My spanish lessons were intense, rewarding and always enjoyable and enhanced by the homestay environment. When my parents arrived for my final week, they too were quickly welcomed into the family and made room for.
I think about the time I had with the FairPlay family a lot and plan to return there when I can. I have recommended FairPlay to many people since leaving Cusco and will continue to do so." Sarah Tomas, Australia
“I had so many wonderful experiences with FairPlay. I chose one experience that really resonates in me.
...I can recall with vibrant clarity one evening spent playing volleyball in the street with my Home-stay family. I remember it all: the sunset’s pink hues, the children’s excitement, the BBQ’s smells, the music’s energy. It was at that moment that I no longer felt like a stranger in a strange land. I felt quite the opposite. I felt like I was coming home.
..My family made me feel comfortable and accepted immediately. I did not speak much Spanish, but we conversed at a level appropriate for me. This is a huge confidence booster when you are learning a new language. I feel very lucky to have spent time with my Host family. I have returned once since my initial Home stay, and I hope to return again soon.” Kristina Kind, California (USA)
